The leadership and committees of the Capital City of the Social Democrats (SD), the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Liberal Party (LP) with friends and sympathizers today laid a wreath at the Monument to the Partisan Fighter in Gorica, on the occasion of Victory Day over Fascism and Europe Day - May 9, he says in the joint statement of the three parties.
"Today, when we celebrate anti-fascism, united around the defense of the greatest civilizational values it represents, we want to send a message of peace, solidarity and the necessity of preserving the civil being of our country, emphasizing the importance of justice, courage and unity, which we truly represent and for which we unquestionably stand for. that we are gathered around a system of values based on anti-fascist principles, on which we built modern Montenegrin history, and on which our future should be based, we want to point out the importance of true dedication to the idea of a European Montenegro and striving towards the values represented by the European Union and anti-fascism," the announcement reads.
"We, who represent and inherit anti-fascism, as proven representatives of the civil concept of society, which is democratic, multi-religious and multi-ethnic, on this day have the obligation to point out the importance of marking this date and mark the beginning of joint action aimed at returning Montenegro to European and the path of anti-fascism", it concludes.
In Europe, May 9 is celebrated as Victory over Fascism Day and Europe Day, commemorating the end of World War II in 1945 and the beginning of the creation of the European Union (EU) in 1950.
