Today in Gorica, the Union of Scouts of Montenegro carried out an action to remove burnt trees and other plant waste.
This is the initial activity of the Union of Scouts within the implementation of the "Boranka" project, through which reforestation of burned areas is carried out. The action was supported by the Agency for the Management of Protected Areas in Podgorica, the Ministry of Defense (Army of Montenegro), the Association of Gorica and Nature Lovers, Cleanliness, the Protection and Rescue Service and individual volunteers. As many as 250 scouts from Podgorica, Bar, Cetinje and Nikšić participated in the action.
The members of the Army of Montenegro, in addition to technical support in the form of two trucks, a self-unloader, and a combined engineering machine, also brought a cistern with drinking water to Gorica, and the participants of the action expressed their gratitude for that. 40 soldiers were engaged, and 12 volunteers from the Ministry of Defense also took part in the action.
Today, the focus was on the eastern slope of Gorica, which. The waste was collected by the "hand-to-hand" method in large chains in which all participants of this action participated together. Nine truckloads of waste were taken, and the rest will be removed in the coming days.
The organizers of the action announced that the mood, energy and synergy reminded the older participants of former labor actions from the SFRY era. For the young scouts, aged seven and over, this was the first action of this type, and new ones await them in the fall. In the same composition, reforestation of Gorica will be organized in October and November.
