The Ministry of Sports and Youth is ready to completely reconstruct the old sports hall near Jasikovac, said the Deputy Prime Minister for Demography and Youth and Minister of Sports and Youth Dragoslav Šćekić.
He led the Government delegation on a working visit to the municipality of Berane, which also included Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Naida Nišić with colleagues and director of the Directorate for Road Infrastructure Miroslav Mašić. At the working meeting with the President of the Municipality Vuk Todorović and his colleagues, as announced by Šćekić's cabinet, they discussed priorities that include valorization of the north, improvement of transport infrastructure and support for the development of education and sports.
"We have a big mission to invest in the north, which is also position 44 of the Government, that the north must be valorized. Berane is one of the important municipalities in the north and special attention should be paid to the development and improvement of infrastructure. The accessibility of Berane is of great importance, so from for this reason, we must work even harder in the future to improve the traffic infrastructure. I can say with pleasure that the Ministry of Sports is ready to completely reconstruct the old sports hall under Jasikovac. We want to adapt it to Paralympic sports, that is, we plan to build a new facility that will serve not only for the Paralympians for preparations and competitions but also for the citizens of Berane and other athletes. This will mean something new for Berane, Montenegro and the region. We have allocated funds in the budget for the implementation of this project and we expect full cooperation from the municipality of Berane, so that they can soon We will also make every effort to make Berane one of the international sports centers. This project is essential for the development of Berane, not only sports, but also tourism and economy. In the future, we are also planning the construction of small sports fields, and the reconstruction and adaptation of the existing ones. We are currently working on the construction of sports fields within the Radomir Mitrović and Polica primary schools," Šćekić said.
Todorović emphasized the importance of exchanging ideas and solving local problems. He particularly emphasized the importance of the Government's support in creating better conditions for the youth and residents of Beran.
The President of the Municipality referred to the situation in that municipality with special emphasis on the migration of the population, i.e. young people from Beran, and expressed his belief that in the future, with the support of the Government, the situation in that municipality will improve and that young people will have better chances for employment and life in Berane. He emphasized that the newly built road route via Bjelasica, that is Lubnica-Kolašin, is of exceptional importance for Berane, as well as other northern municipalities, "which takes us to the central part of the country in significantly less time". At the meeting, Todorović also spoke about the Municipality's projects that are "on the threshold of realization", namely the western tribune of the city stadium, the coastal fort, the road from Dusan Vujošević Street to the "Vuk Karadžić" School, the construction of the water supply on Buč, the construction of the drinking water purification plant, road reconstruction...
He also emphasized that the new Strategic Plan of the Municipality of Berane for the period up to 2024-2031 is currently under public discussion. According to Todorović, on the basis of administrative assumptions, they created an environment in which Berane "can work and build."
Minister Nišić emphasized the importance of improving the economic situation in Berane, with a special focus on the fight against unemployment and support for less employable categories.
"Our focus is on the Employment Office, i.e. its reform, the creation of additional services that will improve the position of the more difficult employable categories from our regions, the opening of day care centers for children and young people with developmental disabilities and difficulties, the licensing of other services through day care centers such as are help at home for adults and the elderly," Nišić pointed out.
Minister Jakšić Stojanović announced investments in educational infrastructure.
"Today we came to Berane with good news when it comes to education and educational infrastructure. This summer, the elementary school 'Vuk Karadžić' will undergo a total reconstruction of the building and the investment will amount to over one million euros. Also yesterday, a contract was signed for the design of a new Kindergarten in Berana, which means that we expect the start of work on the new building already this year. A tender for the reconstruction of the roof of the Berana Gymnasium with an estimated value of 290.000 euros has been announced roof, the works will be carried out during the summer, the estimated value of which is about 80.000 euros. The preparation of the documentation for the long-awaited gymnasium in the school "Radomir Mitrović" will be done during the summer Korać, worth about 40.000 euros.It is important to note that in the previous period, we equipped all primary and secondary schools in Berane with state-of-the-art digital equipment. A tender related to the procurement of completely new furniture for all kindergartens, primary and secondary schools has also been announced. We hope that if everything goes well, that process will be completed during the summer and that by the beginning of the new school year we will have new furniture in all schools. We also announced a tender for the procurement of new vehicles for the transportation of children in rural areas," said Minister Jakšić Stojanović.
Director of the Directorate for Road Infrastructure Miroslav Mašić pointed out that today's visit to Berane is "an example of good practice by the Government" and local self-government units.
"In front of the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs, I will present the current projects that are being implemented in the area of road infrastructure in the territory of the municipality of Berane, as well as the projects that we plan to implement in the coming period. First of all, I would like to point out the Berane-Rožaje project, where a complete reconstruction of the road is being carried out, which with the completion Roads Rožaje - Špiljani - Ribarevine - Lepenac will greatly improve the traffic infrastructure in the north of Montenegro. I would like to mention the most important project in the country, which is the construction of the highway Bar - Boljare The government plans to start the project from Andrijevica to the border with the Republic of Serbia by the end of 2026, so that by 2030, Berane will be connected to Podgorica and other parts of Montenegro by a safe and modern road, such as a highway. I want to highlight the good cooperation between the municipality of Berane and the Ministry of Transport, and the result of that cooperation is the implementation of good infrastructure projects in the territory of the municipality of Berane," said Mašić.
