On Thursday, the President of the Municipality of Tivat Željko Komnenović hosted a group of representatives of the humanitarian organization of the Roman Catholic Church, Caritas, from the Italian region of Marche, who are on a multi-day visit to Montenegro, organized by Caritas of the Diocese of Kotor and hosted by its director Don Željko Pasković.
Among the guests the Tivat mayor met were journalists from this Italian region.
"With the desire that Caritas of the Diocese of Kotor realizes as many humanitarian actions as possible, the director of this organization, don Željko Pasković, asked for financial support from Caritas Italy. He also sent a request to the Municipality of Tivat to support the improvement of the work of Caritas and the recently established National Kitchen in Tivat, in order to started activities were carried out without hindrance," Komnenović's cabinet announced today on that occasion.
The President of the Municipality of Tivat welcomed the guests, introduced Tivat to them and spoke about the excellent cooperation that the Municipality achieves with Caritas of the Diocese of Kotor, especially emphasizing the importance of the work of the recently opened National Kitchen in Tivat, which distributes around 50 meals a day to people in a state of social need.
Pasković pointed out that Caritas of the Diocese of Kotor plans to, in cooperation with the Tivat Red Cross, soon establish a Day Center for the elderly in that city, whose users, among other things, would receive meals from the newly established National Kitchen.
The manager of the National Kitchen in Tivat, Alen Turza, also attended the meeting in the office of the President of the Municipality of Tivat.
