For years, I have been aware of the fact that the fives and Luča are completely devalued, that we have an "epidemic" of Luča that is not backed by knowledge and that they are undeservedly given without any consequences, with unbearable ease, announced the vice-president of the Movement for Change (PzP) and former member of parliament Branka Bošnjak to the Assembly of Montenegro.
At yesterday's media conference of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI) and the Examination Center, it was announced that 501 students out of about 6.000 did not pass the matriculation exam in the subject Montenegrin-Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian (CSBH) language and literature, and received a unit from that subject are also 264 semi-graduates.
Bošnjak pointed out that she hopes that "finally, after the principled and courageous move of Minister Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, she will put an end to copyists and ignorant people crowned with high fives and lights, to face the painful truth that something is wrong and that somewhere we are making a big mistake when it comes to our education system".
She added that personally these "defeat results, and such a large number of units and ignorance of the alleged honors, in the tested subjects within the matriculation exam, did not surprise her in the least".
She said that these results are painful, but she also hopes that they will be sobering, and that "we will start urgently and with dedication to treat the diseased system and devalued values".
"Who should bear the responsibility for this naked stumble, for such a large number of repeat offenders with Luča? Certainly not the students, because they are not to blame... Those who allowed this to happen are to blame, starting with school principals, teachers, the educational inspectorate, and ending with often aggressive and of ambitious, but unscrupulous parents who completely killed themselves in this "wolf" time of degradation of all moral values. This was a real litmus test, which showed the rot of our system, which should deeply worry us, but also make us change something. Consciously or unwittingly, as a society, we have destroyed our own children by allowing them to get something undeserved, by allowing fraud and counterfeiting to be profitable let's finally go," the announcement states.
"Let's start by questioning who we have allowed to be part of the education system... What are our school principals like, because every day some very debatable characters emerge who got those positions with who knows what merit... who elected them, who sits on our school boards , who allowed the formation of the so-called VIP department for the privileged and the complete collapse of the criteria for them, who are our teachers, how many of them behave inappropriately, how many of them come to class in an intoxicated state, how many of them have dubious diplomas... all that should be reconsidered. And on the other hand, to see how protected the educator is. More and more videos are emerging showing hooligan behavior towards teachers, where the authority of the educator has disappeared... measures their poor material status and collapsed social reputation have a reflection on insufficient dedication to the honorable calling they perform, and therefore on the outcome of students' knowledge. What are the conditions in our schools, what are our programs, what are the textbooks and teaching aids... What does the educational inspection do...", she added.
"It is ripe for a major clean-up, not to mention airing out our educational system, because lies and improvisation do no one any good, this fragile and stumbling society does not need fake torchbearers, but the real ones who know and need to pull us out of this vortex that drags us to the very bottom, and for the production of the right ones we need a complete meritocracy, school principals of repute and authority, high-quality, materially provided and satisfied teaching staff and good working conditions in schools," concluded Bošnjak.
