Director of the Media Center Goran Đurović said that the members of the RTCG Council defended themselves by remaining silent during the investigation into violations of the law in the re-appointment of the illegally elected general director of the RTCG, Boris Raonic, in June 2023.
Đurović said that the information announced last night by the chief special prosecutor Vladimir Novović on the show "Načisto" indicates the shameful actions of members of the RTCG Council.
He says that it is a devastating fact that the majority of the RTCG Council led by President Veselin Drljević does not have the courage to confirm before the prosecution that they voted for the re-election of Raonic, which, he believes, proves that they knowingly violated the law and ignored the court verdict.
"As a reminder, on June 1, 2023, according to the minutes of the session of the RTCG Council, this body made a decision at the session held on that day to terminate the contract with the general director of RTCG Raonić, thus applying the final court verdict. After that, at the same session, Drljević, on the basis of a deliberate, erroneous interpretation of the final court verdict, proposed to vote on 4 candidates for general director, among whom was Raonic. In this way, he is the president of the Council along with the other members of this body: Amina Murić, Filip Lazović, Naod Zorić , Predrag Miranović, went to the vote even though it was clear from the final judgment of the High Court that the election of the general director can only be done from the remaining three candidates who met the conditions was invalid," Đurović reminded.
He says that citizens should know that RTCG, which we all finance with 20 million euros per year, is led by the Council and its president, Veselin Drljević, who are defending themselves from criminal responsibility for disobeying court rulings by remaining silent.
"Veselin Drljević, Amina Murić, Filip Lazović, Naod Zorić, Predrag Miranović (who has since resigned) do not have the courage to announce how they voted in June 2023, but hide behind the secrecy of the voting procedure. The majority in the RTCG Council are by their decisions so far caused damage of over 160.000 euros, which is paid by all citizens of Montenegro because Raonic has been illegally receiving earnings for almost three years," said Đurović.
He adds that this composition of the Council will remain in office for the next two or three years because the Government and political parties will vote today on the Law on RTCG and reject the NGO's request to start appointing a new Council immediately after the adoption of the new law, which would have to have more integrity than the existing one.
"With the Council defending itself with silence and an illegal general director, RTCG cannot become a professional institution. That is the only thing that is not clear to the Government and the members of the Parliament of Montenegro," Đurović concluded.
