The residents of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard were invited today to a meeting with the representatives of the Capital City, during which they will try to agree on a solution to a long-standing problem - an unpaved part of the road, which, as they said earlier, makes their lives unbearable due to the dust, and they also suffer material costs. damage.

One of the tenants of the disputed part of the boulevard Drazen Vlahovic he confirmed to "Vijesti" that today he will finally sit down with the city authorities and explain the situation.

"We received an invitation from the capital city for a conversation, so we hope for quick action and fixing the street..." said Vlahović.

The invitation from the capital city followed the writing of "Vijesti", but also the protest gathering of tenants.

The day before yesterday, during a one-hour protest, they demanded that the authorities react "according to an urgent procedure and solve the problem with which they have been fighting for four years".

"We know that the contract with the contractor has been suspended and terminated, but our street remains a disaster. It is impossible to pass vehicles and move around the building. Dust with macadam destroys the terraces and enters the apartments, and there is no need to talk about the damage to the facade of the building. Not so rarely, it happens that a pebble hits the tenants, fortunately, without major consequences. We addressed all institutions of the Capital City - as mayors Oliveri Injac by email, so several times to her cabinet with a request for a meeting. Then we addressed in writing to 'Roads' and the Agency for Construction and Development of Podgorica", the residents of that street said yesterday, adding that, on several occasions, they begged the competent city services to solve the problem.

Ten days ago, "Vijesti" announced that the contract concluded in 2020 with the contractor Tehnoput-MNE was terminated at the beginning of February, and that the tender for the new contractor is expected to be announced in June.

The Agency for Construction and Development of Podgorica said at the time that the works on Veljko Vlahović Boulevard could be completed within five to seven months.

They explained that several city companies ("Roads", "Communal Services" and "Zelenilo") "from March 12 to April 12 carried out the remaining works at the roundabout of Veljko Vlahović and Radomir Ivanović boulevards (asphalt, public lighting and horticultural landscaping ), in order to enable the smooth movement of the vehicle".

The tenants, on the other hand, said that they are not willing to wait five months "because the tender is very debatable".

Vlahović pointed out that they expect a "fair and correct agreement" from the meeting with the representatives of the Capital City.

"...Which is only possible if the mayor firmly promises to contact Mr Dragan Senić, director of the Agency for Construction and Development of Podgorica, to check why he does not allow 'Roads' to asphalt the disputed part of the boulevard. We also expect him to give us feedback in the next few days regarding what he will do and whether he will do anything in order to continue our activities if they turn a deaf ear," he said.

He reminded that it is not about kilometers, "but less than 100 meters".

"At the meeting, I believe, if there is time, we will also discuss some other pressing problems, but for now, this one is the most urgent." We are satisfied with the quick reaction of the mayor to invite us to the long-awaited meeting... We hope for a favorable outcome", concluded Vlahović.
