The asphalt will arrive in a few days: Injac promised a quick solution to the tenants of the disputed part of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard

The disputed part of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard in Podgorica will be asphalted in the next few days, one of the tenants told "Vijesta" Drazen Vlahovic.

The residents of that part of the boulevard yesterday, after several years of waiting, requests and urgent calls to the Podgorica authorities, were finally explained by the mayors. Oliveri Injac a problem they have been facing for years - part of the road is unpaved, and life is unbearable for them because of the mud and dust, while their cars are often serviced. Injac promised them a quick solution.

The invitation from the capital city followed the writing of "Vijesti", but also the protest gathering of tenants.

Vlahović told "Vijesta" yesterday that the meeting took place in a "fair atmosphere, which was their goal".

"Mayor Olivera Injac was at the meeting with her assistants. It took place in a very fair atmosphere. She told us that the tender process will take several months. She explained that it had to be that way and that the process was long," explained Vlahović.

He emphasized that Injac promised them that the work on Veljko Vlahović Boulevard would be completed within seven months after the introduction of the contractor.

"Vijesti" announced ten days ago that at the beginning of February of this year, the contract concluded in 2020 with the contractor Tehnoput-MNE was terminated, and that it is expected that the tender for the new contractor will be announced in June.

Vlahović said that the residents of the disputed part of the boulevard will show patience and "let the Capital fulfill its promise".

"We will wait these five days to see if the capital will honor the agreement. If it happens as they told us, we will not obstruct the traffic any further", he said.

Residents of the part of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard in Podgorica protested three days ago because of the works on that part of the road that were not completed in time.

At the time, they said that for many years they had suffered "a disaster on that part of the road". They explained that due to the suspended works on that part of the road, it is impossible to pass vehicles and move around the building.
