In Japan, the dragonfly is the national emblem and is considered a symbol of joy and new light, as well as strength, courage and happiness.
From today, a memorial fountain with a fairy horse will adorn Krupac, near Nikšić, and will be a symbol of a generation that "conquered" Nikšić and Yugoslavia with knowledge, but also a symbol of friendship and respect between students and professors, and an unbreakable thread that lasts longer than life itself.
The memorial fountain is a gift from the "Oikos IV/5" Foundation, which was founded 13 years ago, on the day when they celebrated 30 years of high school graduation, by the students of the biology class IV/5, which was in the 1980/1981 school year. was declared the best high school department in Yugoslavia at the time.
The foundation was named after the student nickname of class leader Slobodan Brajušković, whose nickname was Oikos, which in translation means house, home, and he, as former students like to point out, was "home" for their teenage soul.
"I am sure that today your professor would be proud of all of you, as he said during his lifetime, and I recognize in you every thread of the ball of knowledge and humanity that he has woven into you. We also owe gratitude to the Municipality of Nikšić, which gave us a symbolic location, precisely the one where the people of Nikšić merge horizons and look into another world," said Professor Slobodanka Brajušković, wife of the late Slobodan.
Brajušković, who worked in Nikšić for 18 years and in Podgorica for 22 years, died on August 20, 2014 and left behind generations of successful and grateful students, the best of them being the founders of the "Oikos" Foundation.
With the donation of the memorial fountain, the Foundation ceased to exist after 13 years of successful work.
Composed of students from the "golden class", as they were called, which numbered 28 girls and six boys, and had an average grade of 4,72, since 2012, once a year they have awarded a cash prize in the amount of 1.000 euros to the best high school student from Nikšić.
"easy today the Foundation officially ceases its work, what undoubtedly remains is a family united in science. Let this act be an incentive to all young people who are thirsty for knowledge that the world is made and survives on science, and that they never stop believing that it will knowledge to save the world," said Brajušković.
Dr. Mirjana Joksović, president of the Foundation, thanked everyone who supported and participated in the realization of the idea and the construction of the fountain, above all the Municipality of Nikšić.
"We also owe gratitude to the author of the fountain, the artist Rajko Sušić, who, in my humble opinion, through the figure of the dragonfly symbolically connected the end of a philanthropic idea that lived for 13 years with some, hopefully, new beginning, with new people and their new ideas." , said Joksović.
She reminded that the Foundation was founded with the desire to help and stimulate the students who were sitting in the same benches where they were also sitting, to whom they wanted to convey the message that knowledge and science are something that should make them progress even more and that this is the real advancement in life. He hopes that some new generations will continue their idea.
"We leave Krupac, which is a symbol of the youth and beauty of Nikšić, a new toponym - and that is the toponym of the love between the professor and his students. We were only two years with Professor Brajušković, but at that time he had a huge influence on our lives and on our development as young people," said Željko Radojević, MA, one of the founders of the Foundation.
As he pointed out, how much influence Brajušković had on them was shown later, when they all graduated from university, became academic citizens, successful in their jobs, and they did not break the connection with Professor Brajušković and his family.
"I hope this will be a message to young people that there was a time when love between professors and students was a part of our lives. I hope it will be like that in the future," said Radojević.
Jelena Šekarić, secretary of the Secretariat for Investments and Projects, said that the memorial fountain project was realized in cooperation with the "Oikos" Foundation, the Municipality of Nikšić and the Design Agency.
