Scientist Dragan Hajduković sent an open letter to the jury for the Thirteenth of July Award in which he asks them to answer the question of how many working hours each of them devoted to reading the 56 applications they received.
Hajduković reminded that the jury made its decision on awarding awards in less than two days.
The jury for the Thirteenth of July Award consists of Nikola Vukčević (president), Zelidrag Nikčević, Miloje Šundić, Sulejman Kujević, Miloje Aranitović, Nikola Rakočević and Adnan Prekić.
"Let's get this straight. No one has the right to shame a jury just because they made the wrong decision; each of us can make a mistake in deciding. So I'm not condemning you for a wrong decision, but for the undeniable fact that you didn't do your job at all It is easy to prove that you rejected the candidates without first reading the attached evidence for example, it takes two hours for a layman who does not know my life's achievements to carefully read the Explanation written on three pages and browse through the numerous attached evidences, which in my case contain copies of selected scientific works, several books and examples of significant world media attention devoted to my achievements , for a serious assessment of 56 nominations, a minimum of 56 hours of work is required by each member of the jury, which means a minimum of 100 days for 10 working hours. With serious work around the clock, your jury could only make a decision on July 10, and you made it on June 6," stated Hajduković in an open letter.
He added that the incredible speed with which the jury made its decision is "irrefutable evidence of the conclusion that none of you performed the elementary duty and obligation to carefully read the explanation for each of the total of 56 nominations."
"I am asking each of you individually to answer the question of how many working hours he devoted to reading the 56 candidacies he received; that answer is your obligation to the Montenegrin public and all discriminated candidates. Since it was impossible for you to get acquainted with with all the candidacies and explanations, the question arises according to which criteria you chose a group of privileged candidates and rejected the other candidates. The most likely answer is that you discriminated and rejected the candidates based on nationality, religious conviction and political affiliation you organize a lottery and draw winners from a 'hat,'" said Hajduković.
