The University of Montenegro and the Assembly signed a Memorandum of Cooperation today, announced the UCG.

The memorandum, which was signed by the rector of the UCG, Vladimir Božović, and the general secretary of the Parliament of Montenegro, Aleksandar Klarić, "is aimed at improving cooperation in the field of information technology, digitization and artificial intelligence".

"Today's formalization of cooperation is the result of mutual recognition of the need for more intensive cooperation and coordination in the field of digitization and security," said Božović.

He added that he believes that cooperation will significantly contribute to improving the capacities of both institutions.

"One of the key areas of cooperation is the joint preparation and implementation of projects related to the implementation of digital technologies, with a special focus on improving processes in education and administration," he said.

At the beginning of the year, UCG established the "Innovation Hub for Cyber Security", since, as a partner institution within the Association of European Universities "Ulysseus", it had the obligation to develop this innovation center.

"The Parliament of Montenegro will be involved in the work of this center, which is a place of cooperation between education, science and innovation through various interactive programs, either through development support or other initiatives," said the UCG.

Also, they say, the focus will be on the development of advanced software solutions in the field of cyber security, the application of artificial intelligence and open data.

"Cooperation with the University of Montenegro enables us to improve the digital capacities of our country through joint efforts. These partnerships are of key importance for building a safer and more technologically advanced future for all our citizens," said Klarić.

UCG announced that additional areas of cooperation will include the promotion of positive practices in information security and the application of artificial intelligence in academic and administrative functions, as well as the exchange of knowledge and experience through the organization of joint education and activities aimed at supporting the development of digital literacy and the use of digital tools.

"This memorandum lays the foundations for significant cooperation between the University of Montenegro and the Parliament of Montenegro, with the aim of improving digital capacities and security," the announcement concludes.
