On Friday, the President of the Municipality of Ulcinj Genci Nimanbegu received the permanent representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Montenegro, Ekaterina Paniklova, with her associates, with whom he discussed the rehabilitation of the Gropat-Stodra embankment on Bojana, the technical details of that project and the planned works, as well as possibilities of further UNDP support to the municipality of Ulcinj.
"The reconstruction of this eroded section on the Bojana River is part of the regional project 'Integral flood risk management in the extended Drim river basin' between the governments of Montenegro, Albania and North Macedonia, which is being implemented by UNDP with the financial support of the Adaptation Fund. The good cooperation of UNDP was highlighted in Montenegro and the Municipality of Ulcinj and the readiness to improve cooperation on other initiatives as well", reads the statement from the Nimanbegu cabinet.
It is added that Nimanbeg thanked the UNDP team for their willingness to help the Municipality of Ulcinj and emphasized the importance of this initiative for the local community in that municipality and the need for its implementation as soon as possible.
