The newly appointed Ombudsman of the Radio Television of Montenegro (RTCG) Todor Brajković was elected contrary to the conditions stated in the competition, the Media Center announced.
From that non-governmental organization (NGO), they pointed out that the conditions of the competition implied that candidates must have VII 1 degree qualification and at least 10 years of work experience in audiovisual media.
"From the biography of Todor Brajković, it can be concluded that he was a sports journalist in the daily newspaper Dan and that he does not have the required 10 years of work experience in television or radio. This is one of a series of illegal decisions made by the majority in the RTCG Council headed by President Veselin Drljević. The other five candidates can now initiate an administrative dispute, which will again lead to the costs of lawyers' services that will have to be paid by the RTCG (that is, the citizens), but also what is much more significant - further compromise of the RTCG Council," the announcement states. which is signed by the president of the Media Center Assembly, Dragoljub Duško Vuković.
"All the inspection authorities and the prosecutor's office are silent on all illegal actions in the RTCG. The regulations of the state of Montenegro do not apply to the Council of the RTCG, and that is what the citizens have to worry about," it added.
As they said, the Ombudsman, elected contrary to the competition conditions, should now consider the complaints of viewers and listeners and independently propose sanctions for violation of professional standards in RTCG programs.
"It should be clear to the citizens that the one who was elected illegally is not free in his work and will always have to return the service and pay to the one who enabled him to take office illegally. In this way, institutions are collapsing because they cannot perform their duties according to the law established role," the announcement concludes.
