The University of Montenegro (UCG) has become a member of the international network UNICA (Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe), it was announced from the University of Montenegro.
"The UNICA network brings together 53 universities from 40 capital cities of Europe, where more than 1.500.000 students study and more than 150.000 employees work. This network provides a platform for cooperation, exchange of ideas and best practices among members, with the aim of improving higher education in Europe." , the announcement states.
As a member of the UNICA network, the University of Montenegro will, as stated, improve its visibility in the European area of higher education, in accordance with the Internationalization Strategy for the period 2021-2026.
"UNICA implements numerous activities through various working groups, including seminars for rectors, vice-rectors and other representatives of academic management. These seminars enable academic leaders to exchange opinions and experiences and discuss the latest issues affecting higher education. Special attention is paid to the involvement of students, whose voice UNICA considers to be crucial in shaping the future of higher education, but also in facing global challenges and problems," said UCG.
As highlighted in the announcement, as a member of the UNICA network, the University of Montenegro has the opportunity to actively participate in the work of several specialized working groups that focus on the development of innovative approaches in various aspects of the university's activities.
"The offices for international cooperation of the member universities have their own working group that enables the exchange of information and innovative approaches to internationalization. The research working group of the UNICA network is focused on issues related to research policies, programs and funding, as well as on the development of the European Research Area (ERA)." , it was announced from UCG.
The announcement states that the UNICA Green&SDGs platform focuses on sustainability and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, "while a special working group deals with the latest concepts in teaching and learning, student-centered learning, new teaching technologies, and European university alliances."
"Also, there is a working group that brings together vice chancellors for communications and experts who work in the field of public relations, communication, media relations and marketing in the context of higher education," it added.
UNICA Scholarly Communication focuses, as UCG says, on the evolution of the role of university libraries in educational processes and academic research, and in a changing technological environment.
"UCG's membership in the UNICA network will improve its international position and cooperation, enabling an active contribution to the development of higher education in Europe and a better future for students and the academic community," the announcement concludes.
