Director of JPNPCG Vladimir Martinović pointed out that Montenegro is a country characterized by exceptional natural wealth, which is reflected in the national parks - Durmitor, Biogradska Gora, Lovcen, Skadar Lake and Prokletije, and that the task of the company is to responsibly manage these areas in order to ensure a better quality of life for future generations.

"Thanks to the support of the Vesuvius company, we have the opportunity to improve our capacities for the preservation of these precious natural resources. The donation of pheromone traps and pheromones will help us in an effective fight against harmful insects, especially bark beetles that threaten our spruce forests in the Prokletije National Park. Pheromone traps are an environmentally friendly way of fighting pests, without the use of chemicals that can have a negative impact on the environment. Vesuvius, as a socially responsible company, recognized the importance of preserving our national parks and forest ecosystems. We believe that this is the beginning of a long-term and successful partnership that will bring significant results in the preservation and improvement of our natural resources," said Martinović.

Assistant director for protection, sustainable development and tourism at JPNPCG Ivana Milović explained that bark beetles are classified as pests in forestry, and that due to their presence in NP Prokletije, not only the spruce forest is threatened, but also the relict species - molica.

"In Prokletije National Park, the bark beetle is present in large numbers. With the help of the "Vesuvius" company and this donation, we will be able to reduce the number of insects and new attacks on our spruces. This forest is characteristic for cold, high-altitude areas, and climate changes that cause high temperatures and droughts weaken this species, which becomes suitable material for bark beetles," said Milović, adding that an individual can lay between 50 and 80 eggs.

She pointed out that in addition to spruce being a valuable ecosystem, this forest is an important habitat for numerous species protected by law. Bark beetle is a worldwide problem. However, what sets Prokletije and other national parks apart from the rest of the world, explains Milović, is that the spruce forests in our area have grown spontaneously, and therefore their value is greater.

"We thank the Vesuvius company, which is trying to preserve one of the last wildernesses in Europe - Prokletije National Park," said Milović.

The general director of the Vesuvius Group, Danijela Jović, said that Montenegro is symbolized by the sea and its national parks.

We must preserve this paradise of ours because forests protect us all! As a company, we are determined to dedicate ourselves to them and we will persevere in this - said Jović and added that today's donation is also the beginning of fulfilling our obligation to future generations. We hope that it came at the right time in order to slow down and prevent further endangerment of this valuable natural resource, and we believe that through such activities we will move other economic subjects, institutions and individuals to action, to save the lungs of Montenegro with joint efforts.

The company Vesuv Volcano is celebrating its 25th birthday this year and with today's donation JP NPCG continued a series of socially responsible activities, called "25 years in place".

"Socially responsible business that is focused on environmental protection is one of the priorities and is focused on activities that support and motivate the community to have a responsible attitude towards the environment. Our socially responsible project "Volcano Green Shield" is not a one-time campaign, and through this we want to send a message that it is necessary for all of us to care and be constantly active in the preservation of national parks and forest ecosystems", said the executive director of Vesuvius, Adi Plakalo.

"In the year of the jubilee, we decided to direct funds to the protection of forests in our national parks, primarily in our youngest national park - Prokletije, in the way that we provided 150 pheromone traps and pheromones with the aim of reducing and remediating the damage caused by bark beetles and preserving the valuable forest. In the end, as the slogan of our Volcano Green Shield campaign says, "We must become aware that we breathe for them, that we owe them our lives, and then it is natural to take care of them." Restore, nurture and protect. Full lungs for the forests", stated the director of corporate communications of the Vesuvius Group Lena Boskovic.

By donating 150 pheromone traps and 150 pheromone fillings, the company Vesuv Volcano continued a series of socially responsible activities called "25 years in place", since this year it celebrates its jubilee – 25 years of business. As a reminder, at the end of May, the company donated an automated digital X-ray machine to KCCG for the needs of the Institute for Children's Diseases, worth over 90.000 euros.
