Penalties for causing fires must be stricter, said the non-governmental organization Green Home, adding that the most valuable areas should not be allowed to be endangered due to the irresponsible behavior of individuals.
The organization stated on Facebook that the danger of Gorica is reaching such proportions that there is a risk that the area known as the lungs of Podgorica will become permanently devastated.
"We appeal to the authorities to tighten the penal policy, because we must not allow the most valuable areas to be endangered to this extent due to the irresponsible behavior of individuals," said the NGO Green Home.
As they added, otherwise all efforts invested in nature protection are in vain.
"Consecutive fires in Gorica, the importance of which is redundant to talk about when it comes to the health of the citizens of Podgorica, in themselves speak of the urgency of the necessary changes in order to prevent them from happening", stated this non-governmental organization.
