I can freely say that a period of substantial reform of the local self-government system is ahead and the Municipality of Gusinje, like every local self-government unit in Montenegro, will have the full support of the Ministry of Public Administration (MJU) on its development path, announced the Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj.
It was announced from MJU that the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy, Nik Đeljošaj and Dukaj, paid a working visit to the Municipality of Gusinje today.
The MJU said that in the conversation with the President of the Municipality Sanel Balić, Đeljošaj emphasized the importance that municipality has for Montenegro, as well as the huge potential for the development of tourism.
"Improving the traffic infrastructure is an important stimulus to the valorization of tourist potential and the improvement of the quality of life of all residents of this region," said Đeljošaj.
The MJU stated that Dukaj expressed his satisfaction regarding the visit to the Gusinje municipality and said that the MJU will provide full support in order to ensure efficient provision of services to citizens with the aim of creating an efficient and economical public administration.
"The Ministry of Public Administration is actively working on the overall reform of the local self-government system. We are preparing a new Law on Local Self-Government that is aimed at decentralization and that fully ensures more efficient functioning of the local self-government system. In addition to decentralization, the focus is on improving inter-municipal cooperation and the process of European integration, which is particularly important for the municipality of Gusinje. The MJU announcement states that Balić introduced the interlocutors to the current development projects and plans of the municipality, such as the road to Vusanje and Grebaje, and the road Gusinje - Plav via Kruševo.
He said that this visit is important for the municipality of Gusinje due to the exchange of experiences and recommendations that should be implemented at the local level and expressed his belief that in the coming period the Ministry of Public Administration will be a reliable and responsible partner in terms of further improving the work of local self-government and efficient service to citizens.
"During the meeting, they discussed numerous topics related to the functioning of the municipality, current projects, future plans with a focus on more efficient provision of services to citizens and potential cooperation, and it was pointed out that more intensive inter-municipal cooperation can contribute to the building of personnel capacities, but also to the realization of significant projects in the field of agriculture, tourism and the environment," the announcement reads.
The MJU said that Đeljošaj and Dukaj attended today's ceremonial session of the Municipal Assembly on the occasion of Plav Municipality Day.
