Members of the Maritime Safety and Management Authority (UPSUL) found a surfer who had been dragged by the wind from the Sutomore beach to the open sea and returned him safely to the shore.
"Our members responded to the call of the rescuers from the eastern part of the Sutomore beach that one person on the Sup board was being carried out to sea by the wind. The Maritime Safety and Port Management Administration immediately sent a SAR-5 boat after the report and, in coordination with the Maritime Operations Center, found the surfer nearby Cape Ratac", it was announced from UPSUL.
They add that bearing in mind that strong winds are blowing these days with gusts of up to 45 knots, UPSUL has warned citizens and tourists to take care of the weather conditions.
"And they do not endanger their lives with this or similar activities, and we also note that all reports regarding events at sea can call the Maritime Operations Center at the toll-free number 129," the UPSUL statement concludes.
