Podgorica firefighters had 43 interventions from yesterday to this morning, and 885 since the beginning of July, the commander of the Capital City Protection Service, Andrija Čađenović, told "Vijesta".
At 14 p.m., fires are active in Gornji Mrki.
Until 12.30:XNUMX today, there were six interventions by the Fire Service.
"We expect that by the end of the day those fires will be liquidated and that the situation will become more stable," Čađenović announced.
The Bulgarian firefighting helicopter MI17, which arrived in Podgorica yesterday, together with the helicopter operated by the Capital City Protection Service, spotted active fires and extinguishing them began.
The cessation of the north wind enabled a shorter rest for the members of the Service.
"As the north wind stopped, we took advantage of that situation for the firefighters to rest a little and to check the correctness of the vehicles and machines. We hope that everything will be under control, but we should not ignore the fact that July is not over and that more fires are expected in the following period," says Čađenović.
He also pointed out the great efforts that the Protection Service is making in order to control the situation as much as possible.
