An earthquake with a magnitude of 2,8 on the Richter scale was registered last night near the town of Čarađe, in the municipality of Nikšić, the Institute for Hydrometeorology and Seismology (ZHMS) announced.
ZHMS said that the Department of Seismology registered the earthquake after midnight with the epicenter four kilometers (km) southwest of Čarađe.
"The strength of the earthquake in the hypocenter was 2,8 units on the Richter scale, which corresponds to the epicentral intensity of degree IV of the Mercalli scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 11 km," the statement said.
It is stated that based on the numerical model of the change in intensity with distance in this region, the magnitude of the earthquake and the depth of the hypocenter, that earthquake could not have caused material damage in the epicentral area
