The Ministry of Maritime Affairs has initiated the establishment of another control mechanism in maritime traffic, it was announced today from that government department.
"In the coming period, an unmanned aerial vehicle, i.e. a drone, will record from the air the movement of vessels along the Montenegrin coast in order to assess the true state of the sea and detect irregularities," the announcement states.
The Minister of Maritime Affairs, Filip Radulović, said that they spotted the criminals today.
"This season, we will also conduct the control of vessels from the air. For the first time today, we raised a drone in order to see the real situation and spot criminals in the Bay of Kotor. I want to emphasize how important this is, especially now in the peak of the summer tourist season when we have an increased frequency of sea traffic, and with the aim of preventing maritime accidents," said Radulović.
The statement adds that it is a rear-end action by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, the Police Administration, the port authorities and the Administration of Maritime Safety and Port Management, whose drone is being used for this purpose.
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs stated that the operators of the Maritime Operations Center in Dobri Vode record speeding with the help of radar, that in coordination with the team that is on the spot, and with the help of vessels and drones, the offenders are identified, who are further processed by the navigation safety inspector.
"From today, we will have an air patrol along the entire coast. Inspectors will no longer suffer pressure, because every day we will have documented who violated the rules and when. There is no joke with the safety and security of navigation. This will be the practice on the entire coast," Radulović said. .
He pointed out that this action will be carried out continuously with the aim of introducing order in maritime traffic.
