The results of the analysis of sea water quality for 114 locations, which the Institute of Marine Biology conducted in the period from July 29 to August 1 of this year, showed that in 83,3 percent of locations the sea water was of excellent quality, in 9,6 percent the location of good, at seven percent of satisfactory quality, announced from JP Morsko dobro.
"These results confirm that the sea water at Montenegrin bathing facilities is of good quality, i.e. that it is sanitary and safe for bathing and recreation. The classification of bathing water within this year's program for monitoring the sanitary quality of sea water is carried out in accordance with Article 8 of the Rulebook on method and deadlines for implementing measures to ensure the preservation, protection and improvement of the quality of bathing water ("Official Gazette of Montenegro", no. 028/19), by which bathing waters are classified as: 'excellent', 'good', 'satisfactory' and 'bad'," the announcement reads.
As they said from Morski dobr, in the municipality of Ulcinj, out of a total of 18 locations where the Sanitary Quality Monitoring Program is implemented, seawater was of excellent quality in 17 of them, while in one location it was satisfactory.
"The analyzes showed that the sea water was of excellent quality at 10 locations in the municipality of Bar, at three locations of good quality, while at two locations in this municipality the water was of satisfactory quality. In the municipality of Budva, the quality of sea water at 32 locations was excellent , while in two locations the seawater quality was good," it added.
In the Bay of Kotor, they say from Morski dobr, in the municipality of Tivat, out of a total of 10 locations, the water was of excellent quality at nine, while at one location the quality of the water for bathing was good.
Analyzes showed that the water in Kotor was of excellent quality in 12 locations, good in one location, and satisfactory in the remaining two.
In Herceg Novi, water was sampled at a total of 22 locations, of which 15 were of excellent quality, four were of good quality, and three were of satisfactory quality.
"Results of seawater quality testing as well as data on sea temperature, air temperature and salinity for each individual bathing area can be viewed on a special application available on the website www.morskodobro.me which is available in Montenegrin and English," the announcement concludes.
