Through preventive and repressive activities to control the application of residence of foreigners in Montenegro, in the period from January 1 to July 31 of the current year, the volume of applications for and deregistration of the residence of foreigners who are provided with accommodation services in Montenegro has increased, it was announced today from the Police Administration ( UP).
"These activities resulted in the submission of 1.502.438 residence applications for foreigners, which represents an increase of 9,5% compared to the same period last year. In addition to the above, 37% more misdemeanor reports were submitted and misdemeanor warrants issued, then 36,1, 91,6% more decisions on the return of a foreigner due to illegal stay, while there was an increase of 44% in the case of forced removal of foreigners from Montenegro. There was also a percentage increase of XNUMX% in the initiation of procedures for the termination of temporary residence permits for foreigners. , it is emphasized in the announcement.
The UP added that officers of the Border Police Sector will continue with intensive activities in the coming period to control the movement and stay of foreigners, which, they said, will further contribute to the preservation of a stable security environment in Montenegro and the suppression of the gray economy in the field of tourism and hospitality.
"When it comes to maritime and inland traffic, officers of the Regional Border Police Center 'South', independently and in coordinated actions with the Administration of Maritime Safety and Port Management, and the Directorate for Inspection Supervision in Maritime and Inland Traffic, carry out daily controls in the area of their jurisdiction. in the period from August 1 to 6, in the water area of all six coastal municipalities, 173 vessels and 213 persons were checked, during which 86 vessel managers were found guilty of misdemeanors in the area of the Maritime Navigation Safety Act, who were further prosecuted in accordance with the said Act ", the announcement reads.
The UP said that the organizational units of the Regional Center of the Border Police "South" will continue with the aforementioned activities in the coming period, in order to contribute to raising the level of safety of navigation in the territorial sea and inland sea waters through independent supervision as well as in cooperation with the aforementioned relevant services. They also said that officers of the Police Administration - Border Police Sector take intensive measures and actions within their jurisdiction in the field of controlling the movement and stay of foreigners in Montenegro every day.
