A large fire broke out today on Dajbabska gora in Podgorica, said acting commander of the Capital City Protection and Rescue Service, Zdravko Blečić.
He said that Podgorica firefighters and teams from the Protection and Rescue Directorate are on the ground.
"The fire is of a larger scale, the teams of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue are helping us," Blečić told the MINA agency.
He stated that the plane of the Directorate participates in extinguishing the fire.
The Mayor of Podgorica, Olivera Injac, said that a large-scale fire engulfed Dajbabska Gora and that members of the Podgorica Service are being helped by colleagues from Kolašin, as well as from the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, whose plane was hired.
"What is important is that we managed to protect the houses in the foothills and if the situation remains like this, the fire will be localized as soon as possible. Thank you to the many fellow citizens who came to our aid, not only today, but during the past few weeks," she said. is Injac.
She appealed to everyone to contribute to reducing the risk of fire by their behavior and reminded that the ban on lighting fires in open spaces is in force.
"I appeal to all citizens to treat such situations with the greatest degree of seriousness, and to use their behavior to influence the reduction of the risk of fire," said Injac.
