Airmen of the Army of Montenegro (VCG) extinguished the fire in Gornji Brčeli, after which they were redirected to other critical points in Bar, the Ministry of Defense announced.
The department said that, thanks to their quick reaction and good training, the VCG airmen completely extinguished the fire in Gornji Brčeli, throwing 18 tons of water from the Bell 412 helicopter.
This, as stated, prevented material damage and protected the local population.
"After the successful operation, the Army helicopter was immediately diverted to other critical points in the municipality of Bar, where near the villages of Utrg and Tomići, efforts to suppress the spread of fire are continuing," the statement said.
The Ministry said that, in coordination with local firefighting units and competent services, the VCG will continue to provide the necessary support in order to protect people and property.
