The claims that municipal waste is deposited in the halls, which were rented by the Municipality of Nikšić for the purpose of equipping the transfer station, are unfounded and malicious.
This was announced by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Development and the Environmental Protection Agency in a joint response.
In the announcement submitted by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North, headed by Damjan Ćulafić (Democratic Montenegro), it is written that representatives of that government department and the Environmental Protection Agency visited the halls in the industrial zone in Nikšić, which, as stated in announcement, they are currently serving as a transshipment station as part of preparations for the establishment of a transfer station.
The announcement adds that this will establish a sustainable waste management system in the municipality of Nikšić.
"Due to the information that appeared in the public in the past few days, which suggests that municipal waste is deposited in the halls, which the Municipality of Nikšić leased for the purpose of equipping the transfer station, contrary to the decision of the Environmental Protection Agency on the removal of waste to the sanitary landfill in Podgorica, representatives of the Ministry and the Agency went to the scene to determine the factual situation. After the field visit, it is clear that these are unfounded and malicious claims," said the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and the Development of the North and the Environmental Protection Agency.
They stated that the Municipality of Nikšić and Komunalno Nikšić doo fully act in accordance with the decision and implement the ordered measures in accordance with the legal legislation.
"Transshipment of municipal waste into larger capacity trucks and their transportation to Deponija d.o.o. Podgorica is carried out as prescribed, which will be supported by record sheets from the site," the announcement reads.
It is stated that the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North, together with the Environmental Protection Agency, will continue to support the Municipality of Nikšić in order to establish a Center for Waste Management, in accordance with the Law on Waste Management and the State Plan.
"We will not allow misuse and misinformation of the public, as well as unfounded pressure on the competent institutions. We invite the citizens of Nikšić to contribute to the establishment of a sustainable waste management system, as well as to contribute to the achievement of recycling goals and the reduction of the amount of waste generated in households through responsible behavior," he concludes. in a joint announcement by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Development and the Environmental Protection Agency.
The Municipal Committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Nikšić announced yesterday that the Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North, Damjan Ćulafić, is lying to the citizens of Nikšić, and that the garbage was also taken to the Nikšić Railway Station yesterday.
Reacting to that announcement, Nikšić from the Municipal Board of Democratic Montenegro said that DPS is frustrated by the fact that the Mislov do landfill is being closed.
The DPS board in Nikšić said today that officials of Democratic Montenegro are deceiving the public and that garbage is still being taken to Željezar.
