Residents of the Mahala settlement in Zeta have had no water during the day for years in the summer, and after the decision of the Podgorica Waterworks to introduce restrictions on part of the users, because the residents of Kuća Rakića are without water, now they will not have water even at night.
They told "Vijesti" that for five years, every summer, they have been contacting the company Vodovod i Kanalizacija Podgorica, and that before the beginning of this, they also submitted a petition, with the request that their problem be solved.
"There are over 200 houses. We don't have water during the day in the summer, maybe a little in the morning, and now it has been announced that they will turn off our water during the night as well. We have contacted Vodovod, but so far we have not received an answer, and we receive bills regularly", locals told "Vijesti" and added that there are also small children in the village and that mothers bathe their babies with water from bottles...
Two days ago, Podgorica Vodovod informed consumers on Vojvoda Stanko Radonjić Boulevard, Sava Kovačevića and Mitar Bakić Boulevards, 4. Jula Street and the Balijače neighborhood (Mahala, Zeta, rect. nov.) that there will be a break in water supply from August 13 in the period from 23.30:06.30 p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX a.m., every day, "until the hydro-meterological situation improves".

"The said interruptions provide drinking water to consumers in the Kuće Rakića settlement, who have not had water even for basic needs for a long period of time. We ask all consumers to show solidarity and understanding for the situation in the coming days", they stated in the notification.
The residents of Kuće Rakića are consumers of the Tuzi Water and Sewerage Company, as an independent municipality, while the residents of Zeta, including the Balijača settlement, even though Zeta is also an independent municipality, are still users of Podgorica Waterworks services.
"Consumers who are in Kuće Rakića settlement after the formation of the company Vodovod i kanalizacija Tuzi are users of the services of this company. Water supply and sewerage Podgorica continues to provide services to users in the territory of the municipality of Zeta and maintains that system", the Podgorica communal company, headed by Aleksandar Nišavić, told "Vijesta".
As they said, after the formation of the company Vodovod i kanalizacija Tuzi, consumers in the territory of that municipality, to which the residents of Kuća Rakića also belong, are consumers who are registered with that company.
"In accordance with the Decision on the temporary regulation of relations between the Capital City and the Municipality of Tuzi until the final distribution of assets to create conditions for the work of the Municipality of Tuzi, our Company uses the wells 'Vuksanlekići' and 'Dinoša 2' and maintains the wells and services obligations for them, with water chlorination. Part of Podgorica is supplied from one of two wells at the source of Dinoš, while water from Vuksanlekić is directed to the Municipality of Zeta. N
"The Company continues to settle payment obligations for the total consumption of electricity in these facilities," said the Podgorica Waterworks.
The locals of Kuća Rakić organized protests several times this summer, because they have mostly had no water for 80 days. Because, as they said at the protest, no one responded to their appeals to provide them with water supply, they demanded the dismissal of the director of the Tuš Waterworks, Ilir Camaj.
The Podgorica Waterworks said that the Rakić Houses are connected to the water supply system of Podgorica and the pipeline that runs through the main road, which has a limited capacity.
"If the flow to the settlement in question increases from this direction, consumers in Bulevar vojvoda Stanko Radonjić, Sava Kovačević and Mitar Bakić, Ulica 4. Jula, as well as consumers in the settlement of Balijače, which fall into the water system of Podgorica, will remain deprived of water, because they are water at all sources has dropped significantly due to the hydrometeorological situation", they told the editorial office.
They also said that unplanned and illegal construction is one of the reasons for the problem of water supply in general.
"That is exactly one of the reasons. Namely, the projected capacities of the water source do not meet the water needs of the built settlements", they told "Vijesta", adding that this is the main reason why there is not enough water in the Kuće Rakića settlement during the summer.

Danilovgrad controls excessive consumption, Podgorica "has no mechanisms"
The residents of Medun, which belongs to the Municipality of Podgorica, also have problems with water supply during the summer.
Vodovod said that irrational consumption is also pronounced here, in terms of using water for irrigation:
"And as Medun is located at the lowest elevation in the water supply system of Kuča, consumers at these points of the system face a lack of drinking water," they said.
When asked if it is possible to limit the use of water for watering, the Podgorica Waterworks said that they do not have mechanisms for such a thing:
"Our Society does not have mechanisms for limiting water for watering, while we appeal to citizens for solidarity, so that all consumers have water for basic needs, that is, for drinking and hygiene needs".
The company Vodovod in the Municipality of Danilovgrad passed the Decision on the prohibition of inappropriate consumption and their teams, as they announced on July 21, are in the field every day to control and suppress such consumption.
"In the first phase, consumers who use excessive water will be warned, and soon ViK 'Danilovgrad', in cooperation with the Municipal Police, will start prosecuting and punishing unscrupulous consumers," they announced at the time, with an appeal to citizens "to reduce the use of water for the purpose of agricultural irrigation." surface, watering gardens, greenery and gardens, as well as washing concrete and asphalt surfaces", in order to meet the needs of all service users.
According to the Decision, non-intended consumption of water on the territory of the Municipality of Danilovgrad is prohibited in the period from 6.00:9.00 a.m. to 18.00:22.00 a.m. and from XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. every day.
