Residents of the Nikšić settlements of Straševina and Kličevo blocked the Nikšić-Podgorica main road for an hour, near the Budoš tunnel, due to disputed material deposited on private properties and land managed by the Railway Infrastructure of Montenegro, in Straševina, as well as on land under Trebjes, which is , as they point out, is owned by the Municipality of Nikšić.
Locals suspect that it is grit, and they also doubt the findings of the Center for Ecotoxicology, whose analyzes showed that it is a non-dangerous material.
The Directorate for Inspection Affairs made a decision that the company "MM System", which disposed of the disputed material, moved it to another location, also in Nikšić, in accordance with the decision of the Environmental Protection Agency on waste disposal. Milan Nikčević, on behalf of the locals, said that they are against such a solution because they do not want "waste from Nikšić to be moved to Nikšić".
"We ask that this waste be returned to the Bijela shipyard, from where it was exported, or to the location where it was supposed to be deposited," said Nikčević.
He invited the President of the Municipality, Marko Kovačević, who, as he said, was ready to receive them today to organize a meeting with the competent institutions and the locals in order to get answers regarding the disputed material.
And tomorrow, as they said, they will block Budoš from 19:20 to 30:XNUMX, the day before tomorrow the blockade will last for two hours, and on Saturday evening for an hour and so on, until their demands are met and the disputed material is not exported from Nikšić.
The locals submitted a request to the presidents of the local communities of Straševina and Kličevo to organize a joint meeting to discuss the mentioned problem.
