AH from Bjelopol was arrested today after he attacked the municipal inspector BM in the village of Đerane, who with his colleagues LC and BS was on a regular inspection, Vijesti has learned.
"News" confirmed in the Ulcinj Prosecutor's Office that the person AH was deprived of liberty due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of assaulting an official in the performance of his official duties under Art. 376 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro committed to the detriment of the communal inspector and that person will be heard within the legal term.
The President of the Municipality of Ulcinj, Genci Nimanbegu, reacted to the incident.
"I strongly condemn the attack on the communal inspector that happened during regular controls of the communal order. We expect the police and the prosecutor's office to take strict measures against the perpetrator of this act," Nimanbegu's cabinet announced.
It is added "that the attack on the inspector, which happened during regular controls of the Communal Police, symbolizes an attack on all public institutions and as such is completely unacceptable for the Municipality of Ulcinj".
