The people of Crmnič and residents of Virpazar and surrounding villages will block the Sozina tunnel from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. today.
This is the sixth protest and blockade of the tunnel, and the organizers told "Vijesta" that they will continue with the gatherings until their demands are met. They also announced the first protest in front of the Municipality of Bar for Thursday.
From the Municipality of Bar, the Government of Montenegro and the state company "Monteput", they demand an unlimited number of passes for the residents of Crmnica and the surrounding villages, at least one free pass per day for Barans from the south side of the ramp but who work, take care of their family or property in Crmnica, immediately five jobs in "Monteput" and 10 by the end of the year, another 10 during the next year and investments by "Monteput" in the local community.
The director of "Monteput", Milan Ljiljanić, and the president of the Municipality of Bar, Dušan Raičević, previously announced a 100 percent increase in subsidies for passage through the tunnel. The people of Crmic think that this proposal is not enough, and that it is a temporary solution, and they are looking for a long-term and legally binding fulfillment of the request.
