The Directorate of Maritime Security and Port Management (UPSUL) has developed a mobile application that allows users to send calls for help directly from their mobile devices, using GPS technology to precisely determine the geographic position.
The SafeSea.me application is, as they say, available for download on the Google Play Store platform, and soon it will also be available on the App Store platform.
"The goal is for users, when they find themselves in trouble at sea, to call for help through the SafeSea.me application, which will enable the automatic generation of their geographic position and sending it to the competent services for search and rescue. Through it, users can directly call the number 129 for emergencies ", announced UPSUL.
In addition, as they said, the application provides a detailed weather forecast and updated ads for seafarers, providing all the necessary information for safe navigation along the Montenegrin coast. Also, through the SafeSea.me application, users can report violations in maritime traffic, thus contributing to better safety at sea.
"User registration is mandatory in order to ensure effective communication in emergency situations. The application is available in Montenegrin and English, and users can find more information on the website www.safesea.me," the announcement states.
SefaSea.me is a project of the Administration of Maritime Safety and Port Management, with the support of the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro.
