Acting (acting) Director of the Management of Forests and Hunting Grounds, Miloš Rajković, today suspended the forest guard in the Sub-Division of Berane, due to omissions in his work, and he was in charge of the Management Unit of Jelovica, which was one of the most threatened when it comes to illegal cuttings, it was announced from that Administration.
"The unannounced controls of this terrain gave positive results in the fight against forest thieves who were active in this territory, and on that occasion it was established that the mentioned forest guard made a serious omission during the day yesterday in his work, which is in the reconnaissance phase," it is stated in announcement.
"For these reasons, and after the data collected by the manager of the Regional Unit of Berana and other officials, the Acting Director of the Directorate for Forest and Hunting Management issued an urgent decision this morning to suspend this forest guard until the disciplinary procedure is completed," it added.
"In the coming period, the Administration will continue with rigorous field controls, while not absolving from responsibility even those employees who act contrary to legal regulations. Montenegrin forests will be protected from irresponsible individuals, while only responsible and professional workers, such as and the vast majority of them," the announcement concludes.
