Seven candidates for the General Director of Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG) addressed the president and members of the Council of that public service, asking them questions about the previous appointments of Boris Raonic to that position.

They are reminded that last week they sent a letter with a proposal for a transparent implementation of the competition for the general director of RTCG, which implies the timely publication of the program and candidate biographies on the RTCG portal, as well as the transmission of interviews with the candidates on the Parliamentary channel, "with the presence of media representatives, as was the practice before".

In their address to the Council, delivered to the media, the candidates Časlav Vujotić, Andrijana Kadija, Slaven Knezović, Sabrija Vulić, Žarko Božović, Snežana Burzan Vuksanović and Srđan Čović state that they have not received any response until the moment of writing the address.

"Consequently, we want, as candidates for the general director whose job description is to ensure the legality of the work of RTCG, to include the wider professional public and to help the already obviously indisposed and, as of yesterday, questionably legal Council of RTCG (most of it), to present this process in a dignified and legal way," it added.

That's why they asked the Council "who overlooked the fact" that Raonic was appointed general director twice, by the decisions of that body from August 6, 2021 and June 1, 2023. "We would like to remind you that Article 35 of the Law on the National Public Broadcaster states that 'the same person can be appointed as general director a maximum of two times,'" the candidates state.

They also asked who issued and signed the certificate to Raonić that he had five years of work experience, "given that Article 5, point 8, of the Labor Law defines work experience as 'time spent in employment and professional training in accordance with the law, in qualification of the level of education, that is, in the professional qualification'".

"From the attached documents, it is easy to see that Boris Raonic obtained the VII1 degree in April 2018, and that the Basic, Higher, Supreme Court and KAS confirmed that his appointments were illegal, so at best he has 3 years and 4 months legal work experience," they point out.

They said that they believe that the logical answers to these questions will determine the future of the RTCG as an institution, as well as the social status of the members of the RTCG Council.
