Herds of wild pigs are once again "plowing" Morac's fields and meadows, and the residents of that part of the Kolasin municipality claim that now there is almost no way to protect their properties.
They have no way, as they explain, to find a common language with the hunting society, which manages the hunting grounds in Morača.
Some locals told "Vijesti" that now even a double fence does not help as a defense against animals.
"Neither the fence nor the "shepherd's house" helps, they tear and destroy everything. The dogs don't help either, because they attack and injure them too. The news is that the neighbors who came to assess the damage also demanded that we install sound protection, so some of us came and provided it, but without effect. It is clear, like last year, that the pigs have become so numerous and "domesticated" that there is no way to protect the properties from them", Moračani explains.
Some are also bothered by the fact that, as they say, the Hunting Society "treats private property as their property". They explain that on several trees on private estates signs with the words "Lovište Morača" were placed, but the owners did not give permission for it.
From Morača, they repeat the claim "that the law is on the side of wild pigs and hunting societies". They appeal to the relevant ministry to change the regulations and to take into account that agriculture is one of the strategic branches of development. Locals believe that there is a way for farmers to preserve their crops and for hunting grounds to operate sustainably.
"To find a way to make it feasible, I guess they receive wages in the Ministry. It is unacceptable that we have the same problem for years, we suffer more and more damage, that wild pigs are more and more numerous, and less and less listen to our troubles. Someone needs to keep track of the number of wild pigs and how to keep them under control. "Someone should also pay for the effort and suffering of the peasants," Moračani said.
The hunting society that manages the area has repeatedly claimed that they are not responsible for the damage caused by wild pigs. They previously told "Vijesti" that a similar problem exists everywhere there are hunting grounds. They also reminded that a ban must be established on one third of the hunting grounds. They recommended to the locals to protect their properties in accordance with the regulations.
According to the regulations, locals send claims related to damage caused by wild game to the hunting society that manages the hunting grounds, the Hunting Association and the Ministry of Agriculture. According to Article 77 of the Game and Hunting Act, the user of the hunting ground (hunting company) is responsible for the damage caused by the game.
However, based on the Rulebook on measures to prevent damage and the method and procedure for obtaining damage from wild game, landowners are obliged, among other things, to fence their sown areas and haystacks with a wooden or wire fence "in a way that prevents the passage of any hairy game." ".
In November of last year, part of the residents of several local communities in Rovački and Morača announced a blockade of the highway if, as they announced at the time, the relevant ministry "does not bring order to the behavior of hunting societies from that area of the municipality of Kolasin".
