On the corso, I "accidentally" collided with Hair. She looked at me a little harder, and I laughed. Since then, we started meeting and corresponding through some friends. She was a real beauty. After four years of dating in 1953. we got married. Deceased Veljko Mandic he was my godfather, he used to say Drago Malović, an actor who, at the age of 65, got the first major role that marked his career.
It was the role of Radosav in the cult series "Đekna is not dead yet, but we don't know."
The famous Nikšić corzo, with which Drago, but also many others who were looking for their own hair, has long since ceased to exist. Not in the form in which it once existed. But there are no linden trees in the town square, nor sidewalks along Njegoševa Street, and we have long since become someone else. However, thanks to the festival "Korzo" and its name - nostalgia is awakened.
The festival, which is organized for the third time, is dedicated to Nikšić artists, writers and poets who marked not only the city, but also the Montenegrin and Yugoslav scenes.
This weekend, instead of the corse, some young Radosav walked through the town square. Ljeposava, Mišur and his parents were with him and they reminded us of Miša, Minken, the German language that is learned in two days...
"Of course I watched 'Đekna'. This is the best series. I have been acting for six years, first in 'Akord' and then in 'Zahumlje', and Radosav is one of the most demanding characters I have played. He is a completely different personality compared to me, he lived in a different period and the values of that time were different than today. It was difficult for me to 'take it off', because Radosav is, in itself, very iconic," says the twenty-year-old Stefan Mumović who performed fragments from "Đekna" with the members of the drama section of the Public Institution "Zahumlje".
And "Đekna" and Radosav did not just come to life, for the umpteenth time. This year's festival is dedicated to Drago Malović, an actor who was once evaluated by Yugoslav theater critics as a true "Nušić" type.
"I think that Drago Malović made a significant contribution and left a big mark on the development of culture and art. We are talking about a celebrated theater and film actor, and if nothing else, I think it's time to remind ourselves of some of the iconic scenes from the series 'Djekna hasn't died yet, but we don't know.' I think the 'Korzo' festival is a great opportunity for that," he said Mitar Barac, director of the Tourist Organization (TO) Nikšić, which, together with the Municipality, is the organizer of the festival.
And it's a great opportunity to remind, even with the name, of the famous corso. Barać was one of those who walked along the corridor, when "rivers of people" passed through Njegoševa Street.
"One of the goals of the festival is to revive the Nikšić corso. The very name of the festival does not allow us to forget that phenomenon that is related to Nikšić".
Stefan didn't have the opportunity to visit, but he did listen to stories about the time when everyone had their own piece of concrete, their own wood, corner, stairs.
"It seems to me that those traces still exist, that there is still a little bit of that charm left, although today most of the time is spent in cafes. I hope that the new generations will bring back the corso, but also a lot of things that were good in the past", says Stefan.
The third edition of the two-day festival was opened by, in addition to the young actors "Zahumlja", the band "Remake", and then they left the stage and the square to the "Circus animators" from Novi Sad. Techno robots, fairies, giants on stilts, beach volleyball without sand, a soap opera show, and when they "turned on the darkness" a fire show followed. The youngest enjoyed it, but also the older ones, because a child squats in each of us.
"I like to say that the 'Korzo' festival is an unusual combination of art, culture, programs for children and good entertainment. It's a very interesting, unique and unusual concept, so I think there's something for everyone. The festival will have a different concept every year", Barać promised.
The second day of the festival was reserved for the music part. It moved from Trg to Josip Slade Street, where, three years ago, the story of the festival started. It was an opportunity to present the "Yellow Vests" and their debut album to the audience, but also to dance with the "Tantra brothers", the first Russian-speaking group in Montenegro. Then, well-known and welcome guests to the people of Nikšić performed - Kiki Lesendrić the “Pilots”.
He brought down the curtain on the festival, but also on Nikšić's festival summer Davor Vučetić. Lowered one and raised the other curtain.
"With the 'Korzo' festival, we close the festival season, and on the other hand, we open the 'September days' that are ahead of us. Last year in September, there were over 90 events, and this one will be no less", said the director of TO Nikšić.
