Yesterday's election of Boris Raonic as the General Director of the Radio and Television of Montenegro is only a confirmation that he was the previously projected director, due to which the Law was recently changed and the criteria reduced in order for him to be able to apply for the competition.
This was announced by Andrijana Kadija, Snežana Burzan Vuksanović, Slaven Knezović, Sabrija Vulić, Vladimir Maraš, Žarko Božović, Časlav Vujotić and Srđan Čović, who also applied for the position.
"Let us remind you that in the previous three-year period, due to his suitability for certain structures, court decisions were not implemented, namely two. The Prosecutor's Office did not find time to consider criminal charges, but that is why the RTCG Council had the 'knowledge and ability' to choose and select him and will choose him, as it turned out, as long as Raonic wants. Because this is an arranged, rigged and illegal competition in which a candidate who does not meet the requirements was selected," the joint statement said.
Clarifying their allegations, they said that there is only one dilemma - either Raonic was appointed to that position three times, which the Law on Public Service RTCG does not allow, or he does not even have the required five years of experience.
"If the state of Montenegro on its European path needs such an election in the Public Service and if malfeasance and political trading are the recommended model of behavior, then sincere congratulations on the election. What kind of Public Service Council we are talking about is best illustrated by the example that yesterday during the live broadcast of the session they misled the public that all registered candidates, except for Raonic, gave up the interview, without a word of explanation, that eight candidates addressed both them and the public with a request to postpone until it is checked whether all candidates meet the conditions required by the competition," it added.
They said that they will not accept this election as transparent and fair, but that they will use all legal mechanisms to prove their claims.
They also announced that, in the coming days, they will inform domestic officials and representatives of embassies and international organizations about everything that is happening in RTCG "and yesterday's farce".
"And in the end. RTCG cannot achieve its goals as a media public service if the election of the first person of our house is carried out in this way. On the contrary, RTCG, with such abuses, has no credibility to criticize the work of other public institutions and encourages and demands the responsibility of public officials , is already becoming a sponsor of negative phenomena that should be fought against," the announcement concludes.
