After a little more than two weeks ago, tenants of several buildings in the Sita quarter in Podgorica demolished a container island, a landfill sprang up in that place.
Tenants of the surrounding buildings then removed six containers and demolished the walled canopy.
Part of the tenants, dissatisfied with this move by the neighbors, decided to continue to dispose of garbage there.
"I'm doing this out of revolt. It's not a solution to just throw the containers out of the City Quarter. There is an underground container nearby that is almost always full. I regularly pay for garbage collection and depositing. I'm not going to drag bags a kilometer to dispose of them," he said. for "Vijesti" one of the tenants.
Previously, the tenants removed the container island from the other entrances, which was located about fifty meters away.
The containers in which the residents from the 12 entrances put their garbage were constantly full, even though the Cleanliness workers emptied them three times a day.
They dumped cardboard packaging from the surrounding markets into them, and oil and grease from restaurants that spilled out onto the street.
Tenants of these buildings addressed the authorities in the city administration several times, but there was no response.
After removing the container, they placed flower pots at that location to prevent tenants from dumping waste there, and plastered requests on the entrances to take the garbage to the next containers and dispose of it safely.
