The grit that was previously deposited in the area of the asphalt base of the Podgorica company "Roads", in the Cijevna settlement in Zeta, is no longer at that location, but it is not known where, when and why it was moved.

"Putevo" told "Vijesti" yesterday that grit is no longer in their circle. From that company, of which he is the executive director Rados Zecevic, however, did not respond to other questions from the editorial office, sent two days ago, as well as to those sent earlier - on August 21, when "Vijesti" first received information that waste material had been deposited at the "Puteva" location, for which is suspected to be grit, and they did not respond to questions sent seven days later, on August 28.

They were asked, among other things, about the amount of deposited grit, the origin of that waste, whether the statements of the company "Valgo Montenegro" that "Roads" bought grit as a construction material from the company "MM System" from Nikšić are correct.

"Vijesti" also asked a few days ago, upon unofficial knowledge that the grit would be moved, and again two days ago - when and where the waste was deposited.

Yesterday, the company from Podgorica answered all the questions in one sentence: "The grit from the asphalt base 'Putevi' Ltd. has been removed, it is no longer at that location."

"Vijesti" reporters visited the "Puteva" asphalt base for the first time on August 22, when they found questionable waste at the location. They visited the base again on Monday and Tuesday, after unofficial information that the grit had been moved.

Journalists confirmed on Monday that Grit is no longer at the base, but the employees they found at the location suggested to the "Vijesti" team to come another day for more information.

The employees, whom the reporters found on Tuesday, said that they did not have detailed information about the movement of the grit: "When we came back from the weekend, last Monday, we simply did not find it."

According to unofficial information, the Municipal Inspection from Zeta visited the site yesterday. The editors did not receive a reply yesterday from that local inspection, nor from the Directorate for Inspection Affairs.

Interlocutors among the employees directed the reporters to the management:

"If anyone knows, they know it. No one here informed us, nor do we have any idea, nor do any of the workers have any contact or information about it," said one of them.

"Vijesti" was recently told that "Putevi" bought that material as construction raw material from Nikšić company "MM System".

Employees claim that "Roads" did not use that grit in their production.

"I can tell you decisively that nothing was used in the production part," the newsroom was told.

On August 23, "Vijesti" published the first information about the fact that waste was deposited in the area of the asphalt base of the Podgorica company "Roads" in the settlement of Cijevna, in Zeta.

The employees then, unofficially, said that it was a matter of grit, that it had arrived a month and a half before, that apparently, no one else wanted to accept it and that it had not been properly postponed. Other sources said that it was "200 cubic meters of grit".

At that time, "Puteva" did not answer the questions of "Vijesti".

At the time, the Center for Ecotoxicological Testing (CETI) said that they had no request for an analysis of the waste deposited at Cijevna, but the Environmental Protection Agency told the newsroom that they had determined that "Roads" had documentation and an analysis, which showed that it was "non-hazardous waste", and that CETI did that analysis before depositing it.

CETI, as they previously told "Vijesta", previously conducted sampling and classification of the material deposited at the location of Straševina, in the municipality of Nikšić.

"As for the waste grit from the location of Straševina, Nikšić... it is classified as non-hazardous waste based on the analyzes carried out," they said at the end of August.

The authorities did not comment on the origin of the grit at the "Roads" location in Cijevna. He recently told the newsroom about the fact that it is waste whose origin is the same as that from the vicinity of Nikšić. Rajko Uskokovic, until recently the executive director of the company "Valgo Montenegro". A few years ago, that company was hired to implement the environmental remediation project of the former Adriatic shipyard Bijela.

As "Vijesti" announced on September 1, Uskoković confirmed that in mid-July, the company "Valgo Montenegro" delivered a total of 4.900 tons of grit from the former Tivat Arsenal to the company "MM System" from Nikšić, free of charge.

In the spring of 2019, the company Adriatic Marinas - Porto Montenegro made a special business arrangement with "Valgo Montenegro", according to which in Bijelo, where the French company had started an extensive job of removing tens of thousands of cubic meters of grit from ship sandblasting and other waste from decades of ship repair activities, also brought 3.500 cubic meters of old grit from Porto Montenegro, and over 2.500 cubic meters of soil mixed with grit.

At that time, it was announced that the grit left over from the former Tivat military shipyard Arsenal, on the site of which the Porto Montenegro marina is being built, would be exported via "Valga" by ships from Bijela abroad to the same places where that French company was supposed to send the grit from the former Adriatic shipyard.

However, some of the grit from Porto Montenegro has appeared in Nikšić these days, scattered on part of private and property owned by the Municipality, that is, the Railway Infrastructure of Montenegro.

In an interview a few days ago, Uskoković said that it is a non-hazardous material, that such status was confirmed by the analyzes of competent institutions and CETI certificates, as well as that this material can be used without any problems as a raw material when performing various construction works, primarily in construction of roads.

He also said that due to the fact that it is a non-hazardous material, there was no economic interest from partners from abroad for the amount of grit they took from Porto Montenegro, so they were looking for an alternative.

"And they found it in the offer of the company 'MM System' from Nikšić, which presented us with all the licenses and other paperwork confirming that it is authorized to deal with that business. We handed over a total of 4.900 tons of grit from Arsenal to them free of charge and they took it out of Bijela in their own trucks with proper security during transport and took it to their officially registered landfill in Nikšić. As far as I am aware, in the meantime they have already sold the largest part of that material as construction raw material to the company 'Roads', said Uskoković.

According to him, "Valgo Montenegro" has complete documentation on everything.
