The director of the non-governmental organization "Zagrad Montenegro" Ivan Đurović announced that yesterday in Župa, in the town of Bunić, more than 50 infected cows were buried, which, he says, died on some of the farms in Nikšić or Danilovgrad.
Đurović states that the local community of Župa and the locals were not informed about this in advance.
As he explained, the town of Bunić is located about 20 meters from the main road that leads to the parish settlements of Oblatno, Zagrad, the mountain plateaus of Konjsko and Lukavica, and only a hundred meters from Lake Liverović.
"The burial of the infected cows was carried out by the machines of JP Komunalno Nikšić, under the auspices of the Municipality of Nikšić, under the supervision of veterinary inspector Slavica Sudžum, which is additionally devastating for this environmental incident which will reflect negatively on the environment in multiple ways," he said.
"On this occasion, the NGO Župa u srcu, which we hereby support, filed criminal charges against those who participated in this inappropriate institutional action, disrespecting legal procedures, and what is even more malicious, disrespecting the citizens of the most active rural community such as Župa Nikšićka. Locals and passers-by noticed already on the same day that an unpleasant smell was evident, which spread to the surrounding settlements," Đurović announced.
