Members of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Authority (UPSUL) rescued five people, including a child, who fell out of a rubber boat in Sutomor near Cape Ratac.
"Immediately after receiving the information that five people fell out of the boat, UPSUL dispatched its crew with the rescue boat SAR-5 from Bar to the spot, as the boat was circling them and threatening to endanger their lives. Also, at the same time, it sailed with a private vessel and our colleague Nikola Bošković, who was not on duty, but showed courage and skill and managed to restrain the boat, which threatened to seriously injure the crew that was trapped in the sea," UPSUL announced.
The operation, which lasted about 20 minutes, was the most demanding rescue operation this year, considering the danger to which the boat crew and rescuers were exposed, the statement added.
"Given that September is a very attractive month for activities at sea, we urge caution when using watercraft, and especially draw attention to the announced change in weather that will follow in the next few days. We remind you that citizens and tourists can experience such or similar risky situations at sea report directly to the number 129 or through the Safesea.me mobile application," the announcement reads.
