Cooperation with a relevant international partner, such as the National Democratic Institute (NDI), is extremely important for the improvement of all areas of public administration, said Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj.
He discussed the importance of cyber security in modern public administration with the director of the Democracy and Technology Team, NDI's Washington office, Moire Whelan.
As announced by the Ministry of Public Administration (MJU), the meeting served as an opportunity to further improve cooperation between NDI and MJU through joint projects, education and strategic initiatives that can help strengthen the free, open and democratic Internet.
Dukaj said that cooperation with a relevant international partner, such as NDI, is extremely important for the improvement of all areas of public administration.
"And the current moment requires us to be especially up-to-date in the field of cyber security and digitization, which are at the top of Montenegro's priorities," said Dukaj.
As reported, he spoke about the specific challenges that Montenegro faces in the field of cyber security, including the protection of critical infrastructure and data integrity, as well as opportunities to improve legislation and practices related to cyber security.
"Dukaj informed Velan about the concrete steps that the Ministry is taking to establish the Agency for Cyber Security, which will play a key role in coordinating national efforts in the field of cyber security," the announcement states.
As it is added, Dukaj also introduced Velan to the Draft Law on Information Security, which is currently in the parliamentary procedure, and he also talked about other important projects that have been implemented and plans for the next period.
"Velan emphasized the importance of ensuring that the democratic rights of all people are at the center of discussions about technology in Montenegro and global Internet management systems," said the Ministry of Justice.
