The Union of Civil Servants and State Employees of Montenegro sent its support to the members of the Independent Police Union of Montenegro regarding the disciplinary proceedings initiated against Igor Rmandić, the president of that union.
"We send you support in light of the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against your union president due to statements made to the media about the situation in the police, which represent a serious attack on freedom of speech, the work of unions and the rights of police officers. Colleague Rmandić pointed out important problems within the police, and his right to express his opinion, that is, the opinion of the union, should not be the subject of punitive measures and the integrity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs", stated the president of the Trade Union, Tamara Goliš.
As she pointed out, we support their efforts to oppose the pressures that can threaten the freedom of critical thinking and the defense of the rights of its members.
"I hope that you will continue with your important work and that you will soon reach positive outcomes that will ensure that such cases do not happen again," concluded Goliš.
