Traffic jams are one of the key problems of Podgorica, which will be solved by the introduction of free city transport, the purchase of 40 new buses and the improvement of infrastructure, said the holder of the DPS list "In word and deed" Nermin Abdić.
"One of the key problems that the administration of the Capital City will face after taking power on September 29 is the issue of traffic jams, which, almost month after month, is increasingly burdening the regular functioning and quality of life of the citizens of Podgorica.
We have shown in the previous period that we are ready to face this problem, both through the acquisition of new vehicles for the needs of city transport, and through the improvement of the complete traffic infrastructure," Abdić points out in a statement sent to the media.
He said that it is time to solve this problem permanently and in such a way that free public transportation will be provided for all citizens of Podgorica.
"In this way, we will have a direct influence on changing the habits of our fellow citizens and more active use of city transport. We will acquire 40 new buses, so the city company that performs scheduled transport with 80 new vehicles will be one of the most modern in the region. At the same time, a larger number of vehicles will enable more frequent departures from from all city stations for five to seven minutes," Abdić promised.
The holder of the DPS list added that, in order to make transportation as reliable and accessible as possible, they will continue to start work on improving the infrastructure through the renovation of bus stops and the accompanying information led boards.
"We have shown that behind us are not only words, but also deeds, after September 29 we continue to lead Podgorica on the path of development and prosperity. Both in words and in deeds," concluded Abdić.
