The coalition "For the future of Podgorica - the city of all of us" announced that they have proven that it is possible to work in the interest of all the citizens of the capital and that fixing the roads has been the essence of their work over the past year.
"The streets are the face of the city. During the rule of the Democratic Party of Socialists, the face of the capital was not cared for in accordance with its beauty and needs. The streets in Podgorica were paved for the purpose, demands and needs of the electorate of the opposition DPS. Selectivity in the implementation of projects cost the citizens the roads in the center of Podgorica, when they were built, were worn out due to the quality of the works, and the asphalt in the suburbs was a common noun for the residents of those streets, which influenced the departure of the population from those parts of the city We are a promise made to the citizens of Podgorica. Your trust is our responsibility, and our goal is for you to see the result clearly," the announcement states.
The result, as they said, is delivered by the director of the city company "Roads" Radoš Zečević, and they said that they are not here to make promises, but to work and for everyone to see the results of that work.
"Every paved meter is a sign that the citizens are leading us. We listen and work. It was this approach that allowed us to make visible changes in every part of the city," said Zečević.
In one year, the announcement added, "more was done than in the full mandate of the DPS city government, and that government lasted too long." That's why, as they say, "the consequences of bad traffic infrastructure have plagued Montenegrin streets."
"We asphalted 56 km of roads, some in the strict center of Podgorica, some in the suburbs. Podgorica has acquired the contours of the capital, and the satisfaction among its residents is visible at every step," the press release says.
They said the data speaks for itself.
"In September of this year, the annual budget intended for the implementation of infrastructure projects was already spent. This shows that and how it was done in the previous year", says Zečević.
The coalition "For the future of Podgorica" says that the streets are talking about their results. "Repaired roads are the essence of our work over the past year. We did not selectively choose which streets to repair, we did not trade in the needs of citizens. We listened to and saw your needs, because they are the needs of all of us."
They proved, they say, that it is possible to work in the interest of all citizens of Podgorica, without exception, "only if there are people with knowledge, responsibility, vision and the desire to see the results in every part of the city in the decision-making positions".
"We work for the citizens, for a better, safer and orderly Podgorica. In contrast to our vision, the former regime irresponsibly and recklessly raided the streets and citizens' standards. Transparency in our actions is the guiding principle of our administration. we hide behind empty promises. Our work speaks for us, and the citizens recognize it. DPS chose selectivity, we choose a clean city for all of us," the statement concluded.
