The Party of European Progress (SEP) announced that for almost a month, conflicting information has been circulating in the public, which causes justifiable anxiety and public concern, related to Q fever.
They asked whether the Government, in accordance with the Food Safety Act, had adopted a Crisis Plan for the management of Q fever.
"Three days ago, we publicly appealed to all competent institutions, seeking answers to questions of importance to citizens, but to date we have not received answers. Irresponsible management and ignorance led to the infection being transmitted to people, which caused additional public anxiety." they said from SEP.
They said that this rightly raises more questions.
"When and in which municipality were the first cases of euthanasia of cattle infected with Q fever recorded? Is it true that 25 days ago in Danilovgrad, on private property at the Velje polje location, which belongs to the Oraška jama basin, from which a large part of DG is supplied with drinking water, 14 throats from two farms," the announcement states.
The SEP emphasized that they require precise information on what has been done since then in order to prevent the spread of the infectious disease.
"In the municipalities of Nikšić and Danilovgrad, where Q fever is registered, are there locations for burying euthanized cattle? According to official statements, they are not, and today we have justified dissatisfaction of farmers who demand that the diseased cattle be adequately removed. Because of all these omissions, we demand responsibility for this state of affairs of all authorities in the institutions that were under a legal obligation to react in order to protect the health of citizens and the property of farmers and processors," the announcement concludes.
