The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) acquired two new "BMW" interceptors, model 430D X Drive, for the needs of the Mobile Traffic Police Unit.
"These vehicles, equipped with advanced technologies for the detection of traffic violations, are already included in daily work and will significantly improve traffic monitoring," the announcement states.
The MUP said that the increased speed and efficiency of reaction to violations such as speeding, aggressive driving and disobeying traffic regulations will directly contribute to improving the safety of all road users.
"With excellent technical characteristics, such as acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5,3 seconds and a maximum speed of 250 km/h, these interceptors enable the police to respond quickly and efficiently in emergency situations. The vehicles are equipped with complete lighting and sound signaling, as well as the most modern radar devices for accurate recording of violations in real time," the announcement states.
"It is expected that these interceptors will contribute to reducing the number of traffic accidents, as well as preventive action, allowing the police to be constantly present on key roads. This is just one of a series of steps that the Ministry is taking to improve traffic safety and create safer roads for all citizens ", it concludes.
