Two forest fires are active in the Podgorica area this morning, in the towns of Klopot and Poprati, the Protection Service announced.

The commander of the Service, Andrija Čađenović, told the MINA agency that they had a total of 63 interventions from Friday at seven o'clock until this morning.

"This morning, the situation on the territory of Podgorica is calm, two forest fires are active, in the towns of Klopot in Bratonožići and in Poprat, after Kučka korita," announced Čađenović.

As he said, there are their teams in both localities, which together with the locals are trying to put out the fires.

"Firefighters are ready, one shift is on duty and one is on standby," said Čađenović.

He said that on Friday they were joined by colleagues from the northern municipalities of Mojkovac, Pljevlja, Rožaje and Berane, and today they are expecting colleagues from Plav.

"We have one vehicle and three firefighters at our disposal and will be there until approximately Tuesday morning, because by then we expect stronger northerly winds," said Čađenović, adding that they are ready if there is a need for larger interventions, as was the case the previous two days. .

He announced that on Friday, at the meeting in the Directorate for Emergency Situations, it was agreed that the Army of Montenegro would be on standby and ready to be involved when we call them.
