Vuk Iković, member of Preokret in Danilovgrad, was detained yesterday because he prevented the improper burial of dead cows, the movement announced.
They say that the administration of the Danilovgrad municipality "tried to secretly bury the dead cows on Studeno" yesterday, although Ikovic requested on several occasions that the place for burying the dead animals be made official and that the citizens be informed of exactly what is happening on the ground.
"Preokret councilor Vuk Iković, together with citizens and locals who use local katuns on Studen, tried to stop the secret and improper burial of dead cows. The cows were still buried late yesterday night, after the police took him into custody together with his neighbor Željko Kovačević," Preokret announced. .
They point out that the Razmedo location, where the burial of corpses began, is a katun regularly used by herders to graze their cattle.
"It is being done in the northern part of the municipality of Danilovgrad, in the place of Studeno. The burial site itself is next to the road that connects Studeno with the town of Ponikvac. The facts that the burial is close to the road, that it is in a pasture that cattle still use and that there is no protective fence are more than enough that the burial of the cows was done improperly," they add.
Uopret states that when the locals heard what was happening on the ground, they immediately informed the police and asked them to come to the scene to "prevent the Municipality from their intention".
"However, the police detained those who prevented the burying of the cows. The cows were transported by a utility company truck and a truck by a company that carries out works on the road through Martinići. On the spot, they found workers from Doo 'Komunalno' Danilovgrad, the Director of the Protection and Rescue Service and the veterinary inspector ", writes Uopret.
They claim that the inspector tried to prevent the burying of cows from being photographed and said that she would "drink the report".
"Iković asked to be shown the work permit, to which the inspector said that they didn't have one and that we should go ask the mayor for it. After they physically stopped the excavator used to bury the cow, they waited for the police, but after two hours of talking with her, they were taken into custody went to the Danilovgrad Security Department, where they gave statements at the request of the state prosecutor," says Preokret.
They once again asked the management of the municipality to "bury the cows that were killed in an urgent manner" and to inform the public about all the details beforehand.
"Otherwise, the citizens will take more radical measures. The more the Municipality hides the truth from the citizens, the greater is the dissatisfaction and revolt of the citizens. We do not criticize the leadership, but ask them to do what they are paid for," the announcement concludes.
