Doctor Milena Popović Samardžić said that the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), while it was managed by Jelena Perović, treated her as a public official and conducted proceedings against her even though she did not perform any public function.
She stated that the procedure was conducted without her knowledge and participation during 2022, 2023, and that she knew nothing about it until the new management of ASK rejected the procedure.
Popović Samardžić posted on Facebook the complaint filed against her by the ASK, which she said she found out about today.
"It's not like she's the first. Like many others in Montenegro, I proved my innocence (and I guess someone should have proved my guilt) before the prosecutor's office, the economic crime police, various inspections and before the KAS several times over the past years. But, these are scenarios that all my friends from the NGO sector have gone through, even uglier than me, so I don't stand out or stand out I worked once a month at the hospital in Cetinje, and in addition, I am the president of the Medical Doctors' Union. Do you see that level of corruption and endangering the public interest? Because the definition is "any abuse of an official, business, or social position." influence in order to gain personal benefit or benefit for another'", said Popović Samardžić.
She added that she treated Perović as an official even though she had never held any public office.
"Like the 2.000 remaining colleagues, I performed the work of a doctor and used the constitutionally guaranteed right of trade union association and activity. I, unlike Jelena Perović, did not manage any institution, so I could in no way subordinate the social interest to the private one, unlike her. She was and a public official and director of a very important institution, and she often had the opportunity to subordinate social interests to private ones," said Popović Samardžić.
She pointed out that the establishment of KAS is a good goal, but that the appointment of Perovic as the director of that Agency "was a wrong step".
