The company "MM System" has started removing grit from under Trebjesa and will transport the disputed material to the Livada landfill in Podgorica. Grit from the Nikšić settlement of Straševina will not be removed for the time being, because part of the locals on whose properties the mentioned waste is located did not allow them to do so until the company "MM System" pays them compensation.
The aforementioned company deposited grit on private properties in the Nikšić settlements of Kličevo and Straševina, as well as on land in Straševina that belongs to the Railway Infrastructure of Montenegro and below Trebjesa, which is owned by the Municipality of Nikšić. For this reason, the residents of the mentioned two settlements organized protests and blocked the highway Nikšić - Podgorica, near the Budoš tunnel, for a month and a half.

The President of the Municipality, Marko Kovačević, organized a meeting of the locals with the representatives of the competent institutions, and then the locals and Kovačević took a common position that the grit must be taken out of Nikšić. The municipality also filed a criminal complaint against the company "MM System" for unauthorized usurpation of property.

At a recent meeting of the locals with the Minister of Ecology, Damjan Ćulafić, organized by the President of the Municipal Assembly, Nemanja Vuković, it was agreed that the tunnel blockades would be suspended until September 23, by which time "MM System" has a deadline, which was given to them by the Directorate for Inspection Affairs. to remove the disputed material. If the aforementioned company does not do that, as was said after the meeting, the municipality of Nikšić will relocate the grid, and the relevant ministry will provide financial assistance.
The Center for Ecotoxicological Testing (CETI) determined that the grit, which arrived in Nikšić via the Bijela Shipyard, where it was previously brought from Porta Montenegro, i.e. the former Arsenal, is not dangerous. The company "MM System" received approval from the Environmental Protection Agency to move the disputed material to other locations provided for by law.
